Rare Cloud Formation Seen in Antarctica

http://www.happynews.com/news/812006/rare-cloud-formation-seen-antarctica.htm

Some of the coldest temperatures on Earth brought a rare cloud formation to the skies over Antarctica, scientists said Tuesday.

Meteorological officer Renae Baker captured spectacular images of the nacreous clouds, also known as polar stratospheric clouds, last week at Australia's Mawson station in Antarctica.

Puuuuuuurdy!

Ok, I think that's about it for your noon hour dose of happy news. :)
Back to work for Corry. :p

Heyyyy, cool pic!! Thanks for the link. The two times I've been to Antarctica, it was during their 'summer'. It sounds like you've got to be there in their 'winter' to see this cloud formation. And that's just CRAZY!! The temperature required before the type of cloud forms is -176F (yes, you read that right, MINUS 176 F)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
