Best Black and White film for landscapes?

...... Now if you had a 4x5 camera, ...........

With large format, and many medium format cameras, one can swap film speed with ease between each shot. Or shoot color. Or shoot transparency. With just one camera.

Film choice aside, chemistry and processing amount to yet another set of variables. Then scanning, monitor calibration and printer/paper profiles add to the fun.

I've always liked FP4+ and developed in Ilford chemicals, this time of year be prepared to have lots of people in your shots especially if you are going to the popular photo locations. Early morning is the best time as most people can't be bothered to get up at 5am to get the good morning light around 7.00-8.00, evening light is around 19.30-20.30 so still lots of people about.

Oh, how absolutely gauche!

To do film justice, one needs a darkroom replete with an enlarger, safelight, trays, paper........
