My husband noted some ducks in a nearby pond so I headed down there. One was a common merganser, the other was white with a black head. I need to look it up, but they do not belong together. Could not get decent photos. I did take many photos of two geese, but boy I was disappointed. It is a dark area, but I thought there was enough evening light to get some decent shots, but they were noisy. Too high ISO or could be I was moving. I was in an awkward spot. Any ideas are appreciated. The camera was Canon D80 and Tamron 100-400. I had it in TV mode with auto ISO. Probably should have used aperture priority. When I came back home I stayed outside and had lots of small bird opportunities. Its disappointing how many shots you think will be great, only to find later that there is a shadow in the wrong spot, the leg looks weird, etc. But I had a few good ones....Not sure what the sparrow-thing is.
