I took this pic of the setup I use for taking pics of the night sky. The camera is my Olumpus OM-1 with a 100-200mm zoom and 2X matched multiplier, it’s sitting on an EQ3 motorised mount and tripod so that it can track the movement of the stars.. sweet!

Thanks guys, :D

You can get the tripod and mount with a motor drive new for about $300, It’s not particularly accurate this setup, I could probably get a 10 minute exposure with a wide angle lens, to use it properly I’ve got to make sure the tripod is perfectly aligned to the north star, and then it simply rotates my camera at exactly the same rate the stars move through the sky so they appear still in the view finder!

I’ve just come in to £100 ($170) so am wondering whether to get that eyepice for the scope or another lens for the OM-1, I think my next big toy will be a completely new SLR which will be probably be a birthday present from my wife in March, not sure what yet, probably a Canon hopefully with AE and AF! :D

Cheers!
