You need a better subject or to at least show the intended subject better. These are also both in dire need of straightening. I think this could have benefited from a higher dynamic range which could have been done with graduated density filters or the likes... Not a terrible start though. It looks like the area has potential.

I like #2 better. Like snake guy said, post needs work. Adjustment of shadows may help and tweak down highlights. Diffidently needs to be straighten. I like where you are taken shots and are going for, good focal point, you may even be able to crop out the sky and still look good.

What are you trying to convey to us with these images?
