I guess VR bailed me out, as the zoom was at 210mm and I accidentally had the shutter on 1/30. This is NOT the optimal shutter speed for my hefty 200-500 beast!

BTW, I was safely in my blind, which happened to be an SUV.

BTW- that shutter speed setting was purely an oversight on my part and not discovered until too late. For example, this shot of a redtail hawk would've been a keeper, but... ya know, 1/30 with a BIF will get you:

I like this in an abstract art way.
 
That's pretty cool. Rather astounding to think there are actually still bison. Not anywhere near me! maybe that's what would seem amazing to me to actually see one. Nicely done, and the hawk is actually kind of interesting too.

Great shot of the beast.

Shutter speed no problem, at least he didn't move.
