Camera bag?

I bought a bag for my canon Rebel last night as well. It's a lowepro for a digital camera and says it fits 1 slr camera with a compact lens and 2-3 additonal lenses. If I keep the lens on that came with the camera (18-55mm) then I have to put the camera in body first, lens up because I have my 75-300 at one end. It's all very snug. Is this good or is this bag too small? If you take the lens off the camera you can get all 3 in as long as the camera is on its side. Is lens up, camera on bottom good? It's a tight fit and you really have to wedge your hand in to pull it out.

sorry for stupid questions but better to ask them than to make stupid mistakes.

it's up to you really. I like the fact that I can put my camera in lens down so I can just grab it and shoot away.
