Canon officially stated the 6D is not discontinued.

Guess the successor wont be out any time soon, yet.

Yeah I'm definitely going for the 6D. I know the topic quickly turned into many other questions besides the cameras comparison but can you check my last post on which I hope is my last question regarding the lenses? Thanks! =)
