The black and white is lacking something in the eyes. Great picture! Where was it taken?

In Zamboanga city, Philippines My wife and I were on our way downtown in a "tricycle" (Philippines taxi) and at short stop, I was able to catch this fellow sitting on the side of a street., I only got 2 shots of him, these one and one just after he spit on the sidewalk!! hehehe, I wish I hada caught the action, but my timing wasn't lucky!!

what a thrill to walk around this city with a nice camera, and a great lens!

I also like the color version better but I think your b&w version could be a little better.

What method do you use to convert to b&w?

I vote for the Colour one too, but i'm with Big Mike.....the B&W would look better with more contrast!

I have never messed with digital editing too much, I just learned how to convert to b+w with software that came with my new D70., called PictureProject. I never liked b+w photos much, but after seeing some comparisons in TPF I have found a new interest.

Thanks to everyone for your consideration.

I think the rugged look comes out better in colour.

This forum will do that to ya.

Great picture. :) I think the colour version appeals to me more. The b&w is good as well but his face is a bit dark.

I think eyes should stand out more in B/W to make it the choice.
