Dimage A1 or...?

I was looking for a prosumer digital camera, and thought of the Minolta DiMAGE A1 and Sony DSC-F828.
The F828 is a little heavy and way to big, so I think the A1 would be a good choice.

Is there a better camera in the same price segment?
Since I am just a student, I can't really afford a Canon 300D or something similar..

I also thought of a Nikon Coolpix 5700 and Fuji Finepix S7000, but then again :roll: ..

Can anyone help me out on this one?
