No. 1 is actually a crop of no. 4.
Any feedback is welcome.

Nice. #4 just needs to be cropped just above the irrigation equipment. #3 is nice because the bird is positioned nicely and the branches lead the eye to the bird from the corners of the frame. Crop #4 and it will be the best one of the lot.

Thanks. I'll try the suggested crop.
Dani

I agree with Fred. Also, #1 just doesn't work because you've cropped beyond the resolution of the camera. It's not sharp and shows halos around the birds. I can see where you cropped it from.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo many cranes ... and I thought I was seeing many when a friend of mine alerted me to the fact that they were there and we went out to see them on 28 November - in rapidly fading light, so none of my pics comes even close to yours here, Dani.

Agreed: the crop looks like one immediately.
But I like the whole frame from where it was taken and also appreciate to see some of the birds still standing ... must use the "scrolling crop"-method to see what the other posters suggest you do ... hang on. Oh well, they are not all wrong: a photo with only cranes in flight would look good, too!!!

Thanks,
This is actually a small flock of cranes out of much more that were there.
And one more:
