Playing around with the scanner tonight and wanted to load a few pics for critique and/or commentary...

Well, perhaps Yahoo doesn't allow hotlinks from this site. Or I'm doing something wrong. As long as you go to one of the above links, look at the whole album (Creative Corner). Disregard the other albums - just snaps of stuff.

Thanks,
Dave

bump, nudge...

I tried moving a shot to Photobucket and uploading from there. Same thing. All I get is the URL. Do I need to be a "paid" member to embed photos in my posts?

Photobucket should work ok, just be sure to use the img tags and not url tags for it to display in-line.

You have an interesting effect you're using on these. I like it, but they are just a bit small to really get a good feel for the detail. I'd like to see some larger versions to see them more clearly.

Let me know if you try photobucket again and are still having problems.

Well, here is another try...

Okay, that wasn't so difficult..:lmao:

Chase - thanks for your help.. When you mention interesting technique, I assume you mean on the sailboat and the umbrella pics.. No special techniques, just an extremely foggy/misty morning... I love fog shots but a lot of detail is lost so I end up with very soft pics...

Well, isn't that the charme and secret of fog photos?
Our eyes don't see very much in the fog either, let alone detail. And if a photo nicely captures this kind of "veiled", mysterious atmosphere, then: all the better (and I think your two that you have not made immediately visible here, do that).

But I also like this man and dog on the bridge. I might have feel tempted to just find the bridge and maybe even your spot and then take the photo - and it would have been all boring. You waited for something to happen, and it did and now your photos is NOT boring! Something is happening. You captured one second (probably less) out of the life of a person and his dog. I like this.
