FS: AF Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8D

I have had this 80-200mm 2.8D for several months, shooting thousands of photos. It has performed great and met my needs well, though I think I'm ready for some modern glass with VR. The lens body is in great shape, I would rate it a 9/10 with just a minor scuff on the bottom of the tripod collar foot. The hood finish is slightly scuffed, but I had just noticed this today. I would rate the glass at a 9/10, due to internal dust. Although this has not affected my images noticeably, the lens finish does not have any noticeable smudges or scratches in the coating. I searched long and hard for a mint copy of this lens. It was inspected it with a high power LED before posting this thread. Focus and zoom rings feel nice and are fully operationally.

This lens lives in my Pelican 1500 and always wears a hood or a polarizer.

I would love to keep this guy as a back-up, or in my nightstand as a back-up melee weapon... But like many I cannot justify the cost.
