spotted this great blue perched on top of a tree swallow nest box, and at first i was afraid he was after the chicks inside, but apparently he was just using it as a lookout for fish. he saw one and went for it... these are 5 shots from a 13-shot series...

these were shot from 30-35 feet away, using a 40D with a 100-400L lens at 130mm, 1/1250 @ f/7.1
