That looks like a nice zoo which gives the animals a wide range to walk!

In the first, I find the blurred background pretty irritating, and the rock behind the calf's (I think it is a young one, isn't it?) head is quite distracting. I don't know how much room there was for you to move and look for better points-of-view, though, maybe this was all you could get at all???

And what a pity the giraffe made the movement into the shadow just when you took your photo, hm? Would have been so nice to have the head in the light, wouldn't it? Ah well...

well most of the animals were still resting when I went to the zoo. these were taken early morning so sun was still low and with all the trees and shrubbery, pictures were kinda hard to come by. Out of about 400 shots, about 50 are usable, and about 20 are 'good'. This was my first time shooting at the zoo. More practice is needed I can see.
