    Photos NOT OK to edit
    ...I just recieved an email that was sent from my best friend's email address...

    The subject reads: Fwd: hi, ive a new mail address

    ...and the body reads:

    hey its me, my old address dont work at time. i dont know why?!
    in the last days ive got some mails. i' think thaz your mails but im
    not sure!

    plz read and check ...


    cyaaaaaaa

    And then there is an attachment labeled mailtext.zip

    Now, I KNOW this isn't from my friend, so it's gotta be a virus. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.

    If you right click on the senders name and select properties does it tell you the real address it was sent from or the IP address?

    It says it was sent from her address. I don't know where to check what IP?

    Then you'll probably not be wanting to know how to nmap the sender, root the box and track down the original spammer and take out their computer?

    It's like flicking snot!

    Time consuming and quite dirty but very satisfying when it sticks!

    (My Uncles analogy of tracing e-mails and using DNS lookups!:lol:
