Husband and Husky- new camera

[Essence Of Perception]

This is one of the very first photos I took on the day that I bought my new digital Rebel XT. The lighting wasn't that great, so I understand I should work on that a bit. Any other critique would be very appreciated- I am always looking to improve. (I wasn't sure about half of his leg missing, should I have left that in instead of cropping it?)

So the first one has the edits, and the second one is the original, right? I think you did a good job on that! In the second one, parts of the fence are extremely washed out.

Yes, thats correct. That is what I noticed, and his faced seemed a bit washed out too. And if the shot would have been intentionally set up instead of in the moment, I would have moved the pedal bike and car from behind the fence as well. Lol

I love how his eyes mirror those of the husky! Nice composition.

Excellent news- my husband agreed to let me take a few more pictures of him, so this wont be the last human shot of mine! Yay!
