Industry considerations

I am currently writing a business plan for a wedding and portrait company. I wish to focus on an alternative lifestyles market (gays, heavily tattooed, unconventional religious or policital views etc.) and my instructor has informed me that I should have more information about my industry within my plan. I was wondering if anybody here has written a formal business plan and if so what inclusions they have for a photographer for hire's industry.
