Besides that, my only other comment would be that the second could be improved by having the snake's eye be the most in-focus part of the photo.

Interesting "kids" you have here, I am sure they are your delight, Delight, eh?

The first is nice, though the pattern on the rug in the very same colour as your snake is a bit distracting - and Wendy is right about the eye needing to be fully in focus in the second. Why is the snake in the second pic so light, so pink? Is it a baby still? Or about to shed?
