The second shot is very nice. The dark & light contrast is nicely managed.

I like the second shot a lot, the ladybug is right on the RoT and the rose draws your eye around the picture. Great composition.

Love the second shot, wondering how it would look with the hot spot taken off the lady bug?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Here is an edit without the hotspots.

I thought I would like it better without the hot spots, but it doesn't look as natural now, we know lady bugs have shiny shells, I guess.

    Beautiful photo, love the contrast.

I also think it looks better with the hotspots because of the shiny shell.

I like the most recent edit... I'm just not sure if it would look better full black and white (except lady bug) or if it looks better how it is... :/ hmmm..

I think we all agree the second is the better of the two. I would be interested in seeing the whole rose black and white but I beleive that I will end up liking the original better.

I think the B&W with an item singled for color are really interesting but I really like the peach color of the roses interior. Hopefully, there will be a post of the B&W + Color version so we know for sure.
