We went to Monarto Zoological Park in South Australia last weekend to check out the venue for our upcoming wedding. Just had to take some photos of the meerkats while we were there.

These are really too small to see the detail well (read guidelines for size suggestions)
Unfortunately, these are more OK snaps than anything. The composition is adequate but shows nothing special about the meerkats themselves.

    Sorry.

On the other hand, meerkats are just the cutest critters on the planet (except, of course, for dikdik)

To add substantively to the forum, you might try to isolate the cats a bit more by shooting them vertically... their long bodies work well that way. Here is an example of what I mean... (and no, I am not trying to say my picture is a great picture or anything, my fill flash wouldn't quite reach out enough to make this the shot it needs to be... just suggesting a way to shoot meerkats...)
