My first attempt at night photography.

A look at the Brooklyn Bridge from South Street Seaport. At first I liked it but looking at it for a couple of days now, there seems to be too much going on...all the cars on the FDR.
Straight out of the camera. Just cropped.

I think a different angle may have helped ... maybe more from the right side, with the bridge forming a line through the image... (not sure if you can tell what i'm saying ..) so you have one direct line moving through the image.

Putting it another way ... the bridge would go through foreground, midground, and background,

I dont think theres too much going on. I think it really sums up the city just about right. I love the reflections, the lights on the bridge the color of the sky. this really is a nice picture. specially for your first try. Good job

i liked it for its colors and reflections; yet i too feel exaggerating the bridge's by showing its receding from one end would be more powerful

I don't have much to say from a technical stand point (because that's a much nicer night photo than any I have been able to take). I from a viewers stand point would like to see more of the bridge though. It's to bad you couldn't have taken a second photo and stitched the two photos together. The other thing I'm noticing is that you have either a dirty sensor or lens. You have round spots in the sky on the left side of your photo.

There are 3 or 4 spots....not the plane looking one, from dirty sensor. gotta zoom in to see, kinda dark blue circles. Also, when zoomed in, the plane thing actually looks kinda like lens flare. I thought it was a plane too but now not sure.

These are a few that I pointed out. I can see a lot more when viewing on my ipad.

IMO that photo is awesome. Just clone out the spots and you're good to go!
