Mysterious color in photo

Phone cameras often have terrible IR filters. My phone sees IR just fine. It renders the output of an IR LED from a remote as a sort of purple, though.

It's possible that the cream reflected the IR from sunlight, OR that stimulated bloody flow to the area, or both?

Try taking an image with a different camera.

Also with the same camera in a different location/light.

With the new camera in the original location/light.

Look at the lens of the camera used.

Take a photo of a white wall with the original camera used.

There are so many factors.

OP-could you collect the EXIF data, and let us know what camera made the sample image? Maybe somebody could dig up detailed specifications on the sensor based on the EXIF info.

This is obviously alien related. Has she been to Area 51 lately? You need an expert like Alex Jones to get to the bottom of this one.

Until you DO get to the bottom of it, be wary. She could now be a body-snatcher.

Phones are made in large batches in very rapid order so it's quite possible the assembly line just plain missed the IR filter on this one.
No way to possibly answer the question without experimenting with same camera and a different one on the same person and in the same car. Car windows also block some light spectrums. My glasses don't darken in the car for instance.
