If the item is imported or chemicals you might have to pay more than the GST, it really depends on the item.
I had ordered an Airbrush and air hose from the the US it was $100 USD and with shipping it came out to be about $130 USD. When UPS delivered it the duty was $53 CDN. I was shocked at the amount, but there was no retailer of this brand in Canada.

As I mentioned above. UPS will charge their own feer regardless of the trade agreements. They WILL charge you on anything you import irregardless.


It's easy to avoid it - just use another service.

It is actually UPS Standard (ground) that has the insane brokerage/etc. fees. FedEx is almost as bad with their ground service.
