I was looking around on Ebay and came across a new in the box Nikon F65 QD that comes with a Tamron 35-105 zoom, a Nikon battery grip and a soft case. Everything in the kit is said to be new but after some research I found out Nikon discontinued the F65 in 2006. $199.00 for everything, just curious if this is a good deal or should it be avoided. Since my newest film slr (Canon T-70) dates back to 1985 and it lacks autofocus it seems like this would be an upgrade without dropping a lot of dough. Anyone here have an experience with the Nikon F65 or the U.S. version N65?

Do a search on e-bay. I think you can find an F/N65 with a Nikon 28-80mm (better lens) for $60 or less- shipped. You really don't need a grip and most of the cameras you'll find on e-bay are in pretty good shape.

If you've got somewhat over $200 or so then start looking for an F100 with that same lens.
