Nikon D7000 Flash Warning

I am using a Nikon D7000 + Nikon DX 35 mm f1.8 G lens. I have been noticing that the flash warning sign is mostly on even when the scene is quite lighted up. This happens in A mode, auto mode the flash pops up. I am using auto iso sensitivity. I have also noticed in the A mode even if the flash warning sign blinks , the picture taken without the flash comes out well. The issue is seen with the DX 18-105 mm kit lens as well. It would be nice if some one could help

Turn the Mode dial one click counter-clockwise.

Then get out the manual and start at page 143.
