Nikon P7100 and aftermarket batteries

Has anyone had any trouble using after market batteries in their Nikon P7100? I have tried two from different Mfg.
and neither powered up the camera.

Nikon has enabled firmware to detect non-Nikon batteries. The only way to use "compatibles" is with a battery grip. Such is the case for my D3100. Unfortunately, the P7100 being a p/s type of camera does not have one even a third party made grip AFAIK.
