Been trying some macro in the backyard lately. Got this guy but not sure what it is.

Looks like some species of a fly but certainly couldn't tell you which. Did you get any other angles?

I had a few other angles but most were OOF. I think I need to figure out focus stacking to get some better macro shots.

It's definitely a robber fly, also called assassin flies. I've shot dozens of them.
