On Scene: Walker Fire

It's fire season in California and it's kicked off with a bang.

Local fire department resources are stretched thin on deployment to multiple local, regional, and statewide assignments.

This fire was started by a tractor plowing fields. Aircraft and hand crews had the fire held at 42.4 acres.

Resources from County, State, and two federal firefighting agencies responded.

There are a lot of documentary fire photographers, I try to apply an artistic eye beyond simply documenting the scene.

Here's some flame! But not the same fire... Unfortunately this fire was pretty remote and was mostly out by the time I arrived.

Gary likes fires. Especially the bigger ones when the Red Cross shows up with their food truck and dishes up bad coffee but pretty good doughnuts.
