Scored a MF folder today

OK... Camera is a lat $009.JPGe 30's Welta Garant, Compur Rapid shutter. Removed the lens elements, no surprises and flooded the shutter assembly with Ronsonol 3 - 4 times. All worked slick until it dried then the slow speed gearing dragged.

Next adventure is to remove the speed ring and attempt to place sparingly oil on likely spots on this bunch of wheels and springs.

Anybody do this? Google found a couple of sites with manuals for compur shutters.

Good news is the lenses are sparkling bright, no fungus or scratches. Ronsonol didn't seem to bother the bellows

.....continuing, removing nameplate and speed ring gained access to the works better. Another couple of flushes, let dry then tiny drops of oil on likely spots as well as some brake lube on the back of the speed ring did it. all clean and reassembled now - pictures when this neverending winter disappears.

lots of help from a site called "Camera Collecting and Restoration"

Give it a go.
