Thought I'd get some shots of tonights NE Oklahoma storm outbreak.
Set up on the back porch, snapping 15 second images to try to capture some lightning.
Tornado sirens go off.
Like most Okies, I look skyward to see what's up. Fortunately, I'm facing SW, which is typically the direction from which tornados approach (not always, but it held true tonite).
I press the shutter release one last time and run into the house to get my shoes on as the 15 second exposure ticks by, so I can take shelter. Checked it when I got home from the shelter: nada. Uploaded here, but it's a non-event. Nice low-noise night image with no onrushing path of destruction, tho, which is a blessing! Missed us. Really nervous that not everybody was so lucky.
Hope all are well and safe tonight! Tornados are fascinating and terrifying.
