I've gotten an unfortunate task,
I have been asked to photograph a funeral. I don't really like the task but will of course do it when asked by the widower.

Does anybody have any good tips for taking photos at funerals and/or in a large church?

To be discreet is important so I'm afraid i'm going to feel weird clicking away when people cry and try to say their goodbyes.

I’ve taken a camera to a few funerals/wakes of family members mostly when I was young (but never of a non-family members), because it’s one time you see a lot old & new family, for the most part the pic’s are 100% simple snapshot, but I have gotten one or two odd looks at funeral

a funeral photo session....hmmm...
All I can recommend is that you're most likely going to want to raise your ISO speed, and use a zoom...
I wouldn't wanna be snapping in people's faces while they're crying.

Reminds me of Wedding Crashers..

"So I was crashing a funeral today...."
