Looks like a painting which is nice. Except I don't like how it's the back of the train.
The PP gives it a model railroading feel.
Oh, I once knew what this kind of post processing is called, which makes things appear like little models ... dang! Heard about it (and saw the first example pics) of said technique right here on TPF several years ago ... but I just don't remember... Grrr.
Anyhow, I like what you did, you sure DID enhance an otherwise pretty mediocre photo - personally, I'd actually prefer for that blown out sky to be eliminated completely, but it no longer looks THAT blown in the edit, so ... it's ok.
LOL...I just read how to do it in a magazine article last month! Anyway, great job with final touches.
Agreed. The depth of field change really gives it a miniaturized feel.
Exactly - that's the word.
Thanks for helping me out on that! OF COURSE it is tilt-shift!
hahaha! glad to help out.
i know the feeling of knowing something but just can't remember what it's called...always wrecks my nerves!
Yep, I just looked and it's in Pop Photo, Feb, '09
That's a really sweet editing job. Kudos!
Did you just duplicate the layer, blur it, and paint a mask over the train and railroad to get that effect?
I also have no idea how you modified the color (some kind of color overlay or an action perhaps?).
Separate names with a comma.
