I was on a double-decker tour bus with a friend in Washington, D.C. in May when I came upon this scene of a demolition in process. I borrowed my friend's Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi and snapped these -

Yeah, heh, it was a big surprise to have that suddenly right in front of me when we rounded the corner after looking at so many intact buildings.

I only wish I had more time to go back on foot and get closer shots.
