This is a picture I took while visiting family in Virginia a few weeks back. The moutain in the back is called Priest Mountain and had a dusting of snow on it.

they say rt 29 between charlottesville and warrenton is some of the most beauty scenery in the US. i agree, i lived there for many years ;) this is nelson county...lovely views year round!

you've captured this as nicely as i've seen. thanks for sharing!

Yes, this is Nelson County, beautiful area of Virginia. I'm not sure whether these are the Appalachians or not. Thanks for the comments and the welcome.

Welcome to ThePhotoForum, and I hope you get some sleep at last ;).
"Insomniac" ...

Beautiful.
I love the light in which you saw and captured this, making the clouds this orangey-pinkish in colour, which goes so perfectly well with all the autumn/fall-colours in the countryside. The moutain in the background looks as if someone had poured a thin layer of sugar over it - very nice. :D

Welcome to TPF, and your shot is real nice, great compo and colour

nice shot, welcome! can't wait to see more...
