If someone purchases print rights from you for a photo they will use in a magazine are they free put a PDF of the magazine on the website?

More importantly is there a gudeline somewhere for this kind of legal stuff?

I don't know, but one issue that you have to worry about is, even if it's not legal, who's going to go through the trouble and expense to enforce it?

What kind of rights did you give them? Did you sign a contract? And it really isn't very expensive to inforce it. I have had to do it in the past, it was well worth it.
