There have been many rumors circulating lately that Pentax will release new camera's with newer sensors from another company. People have alluded to Kodak and or Foveon. Perhaps the newer Sony. Some have also said that Samsung may produce a new CMOS 1.25 sensor. Any thoughts on this subject would be of interest to me.

This is probably a silly question, but what sensor are they using in the current one (the K10d)? Most of what I've read suggests that it's not exactly the same Sony used in the Nikon and Sony 10mp models, but then again I've heard no confirmation that it's a Samsung or anything else.

As for the next one, well I'm not sure. Previously (for all the 6mp ones) they used Sony, but like I said I don't know if that was the case with the K10d. On the other hand they're using a Kodak sensor for the 645D so I guess that's another possibility. As for Samsung, I have to admit to being completely ignorant about their involvement in sensor technology.
