Entrance to a revived speakeasy bar in Toronto's old Kensington Market. No signage but often a design element spread online that marked the spot. Most closed, some disappeared altogether, during the pandemic. Revivals were rare as tastes changed. Still, many missed the insider vibe and outre crowd so much that several old joints have resurfaced. This was one I loved--variously know as "Ten Speed," "Bum Bike," or "UPS." Cheap bar, discount food catered by a "ghost kitchen" next door that supplied Uber Eats and DoorDash customers for Chinese and Vietnamese restos. Old shoe place. Nice being welcomed by name, too.
