1934 Chrysler Airflow

I'm pretty sure that I have never seen that Car design before
 
They sure don't make 'em like they used to.
 
I love old cars and their early designs and that one is no exception. Beautiful car and pic! A real treat just looking at it!
 
This was the beginning of the streamlining craze. Porsche also was early in streamlining.

Part of the problem was the time period. The country was in the middle of the Great Depression, and capital was scarce, at best; nonexistent at worst. You also have to consider why anyone would want an expensive aerodynamic car when there wasn't an appreciable market for them. Gasoline was dirt cheap, and there were no Federal laws mandating any type of fuel economy.

While the aero look was nice, power trains had not yet advanced for the masses. You could get some pretty exotic combinations with Duesenberg, Cadillac, LaSalle, etc., but most consumers just needed basic transportation.
