why would you want the circular ring around the image?

It's something you put up with in order to have 185 dregees of view. Put it in a round frame and it could look pretty neat.

i want to, before i die.. much later in life, get one of nikon's 8mm/2.8 fisheyes made for me. see's behind the camera on a fullframe sensor or 135 format. similar effect to this lens.


i think they're about 70 grand by special request. my friends will buy 2-seater cars and date girls half their age, and i'll buy a seventy thousand dollar lens.

Sigma makes a 4mm circular fisheye, i'd choose it over this.

I don't know, but it looks a bit... tacky. The photos are really distorted at the edges too. I'd probably go with a Sigma 8mm fisheye lens, rather than go the extra -2.4mm.

I'd LOVE to get a fisheye but have trouble justifying the cost for a lens that I'd consider more of a speciality than a high use lens.
