hello all, i am new to the forum and would like some opinions if you would be so kind. I've had a 5d mk II for almost 2 years now and am possibly looking to upgrade mainly for a few reasons. I love the image quality, but the lack of ISO options in auto ISO such as setting max numbers and min shutter speeds etc. Also the autofocus system while proficient, really does show its age even compared to lower end cameras these days. I'm open to some ideas but would want the cost to come in around 2k or less. Options i've been considering are the x100s although being limited to one focal length may be a challenge/rewarding. Canon 7d Mk II when it comes out. Nikon d7100, d600, or d700. and the fuji x pro 1. obviously there is a lot to consider here, with brand switching etc, weights, features etc etc.

Have I tried running magic lantern firmware, it'll breath some more life into your body.

Otherwise 5d3, it is everything u wanted the 5d2 to be. Improved af, great ISO, higher FPS & slightly better IQ (but iq on d2 is already great.

have never heard of magic lantern firmware. I'll check it out. also i would love a mkIII but i dont think i can get one for under 2k unfortunately.

another thing i've noticed despite the superb image quality of the mk ii is its somewhat limited dynamic range. a lot of the nikons are boasting incredibly DR and noise free images even from APS-C sensors that are close to the 5d mk II. a boost in frame rate would also certainly be nice.
