a barred owl fledgling (5)

went back to the barred owl nest this afternoon, hoping the little one would appear again. it did, in grand fashion! turns out it's not as little" as i thought... it's nearly fully fledged, and will probably leave the burrow in another day or two. even at this age, as you can see in #4, this little guy has some serious talons! i'm glad i went back today; the weather the rest of the week is looking not so good for photos, and by the time it clears, this little guy will be long gone! i got over 200 photos of this little fellow - here's a sampling...
