A bird in the hand

is worth two in the bush. Found this little guy on my lawn this afternoon as I was watering. A high percentage of baby birds don't make it for a number of reasons. Evidently he fell from the nest for whatever reason.

Aww; was he okay?

 

He was still very much alive but won't last long out of the nest. I will let nature take its course as I will be out of town all next week and won't be around to try to nurse it along.
