As a photographer, I have discovered there is a progression from "silly, don no cheat," to "I need more camera because I know more now," to "I need better glass," to a whole lot of money spent, admiration and adulation until one day you realize, sometimes less is not necessarily more, but can be just right. Such a realization has come to me in the last few months. Essential Tremors was the first indicator, then came the broken wrist, both of which told me, "hey boy, you're so much older now, beat up and it's time to back down a bit.

So, listening to myself, however reluctantly, I sold my Z8 and my 24-120 and purchased a Z50 and a new 24-200, both of which are 1/2 the weight of the aforementioned, cost a fraction of and still give me the satisfaction of working the numbers to the best end. I am still getting used to the fineries of this little jewel of a camera, but I think you'll agree, it's a pretty good alternative.

"From the Garden" - I have well over 800 Zinnia's, towering Sunflowers, Marigold's by the dozens and a scattering of Milkweed, Firebush, Hydrangeas, and, and, and....

Some beautifully detailed images! Looks like it was a good investment! I am facing similar challenges, and finding it difficult to hold my 600mm lens steady enough even with high speeds and image stabilization.

Age is a biotch, and other than checking out for good, there's no avoiding it. Adjusting and adapting - be good Marines.
