not a pro, but the sky and whites are blown out. focus looks a little off in the first two. #5 just looks off, not sure if that was a weird B&W or some sepia deal.

The color ones are way overwarmed, the skin tones are again red and unflattering, with a fair bit of unappealing yellow thrown in as well. As with some other photos you've put up here, you've got a clear idea of the overall look, but you're not controlling the skin tones as you go, and you're winding up making the people look pretty icky.

Apart from the skin, the look itself is quite nice, though!

agree with Amolitor ^^^ do you calibrate your screen often? That makes a huge difference.

Looks like you are getting the typical Canon "yellow" tones in your images, either a custom WB or shoot in RAW to make up for those (or dig really deep into the manual and set the color parameters on the camera to tone them down). With this group of images and some of the others you've posted I would like to see things cropped in a bit tighter. Fill the frame with the subjects, I know you like the setting, but the image is about the people in it. YOu can tighten some of these up buy turning the kids at angles instead of squatred up straight on, this also will get them closer together.

Lastly, watch out for hats, they leave shadows on faces (also hiding the eyes) that are not very pleasing, be ready to deal with those either at the time of shooting (a reflector can work well) or in post processing.

Also, if you can leave exif info attached to images that sometimes helps with giving some helpful ideas. The same thing with allowing others to edit images you post, that can be a huge learning tool.

I calibrated when I started editing on this computer a little more than a year ago...I print through MPixPro...I'm always happy w/ what I see and so are my clients. =/ Am I blind? I'm just not seeing what you guys are seeing.

As for the warmth of my photos, it's exactly what I'm going for. It's just my personal preference. That being said, not ALL of my photos are over warmed--but quite a bit of them are. =)

Thanks again for you comments. I'll have to look closely at the skin tones...are they off because the photos are warm??

You should be calibrating your monitor at least once a month, the colors on it will shift over time.
