Hi All,

Had a good day at a local nature reserve:

1 - Southern Hawker Dragonfly

2 - Emerald Mayfly

3 - Conehead Cricket

I am particularly pleased about the Southern Hawker Dragonfly as I have not seen many of them this year.

I have given up trying to hide backgrounds.

All comments welcome.

A cricket walks into a bar

He sits down at the bar and after chatting about what's on tap, orders a beer. People are sort of looking at him funny but he's quiet and watching the ballgame on the TV so no one gives him any trouble. At the end of the game, the bartender goes to give him his bill and asks the cricket,

"Are you a grasshopper?"

The cricket responds, "No, I'm a cricket, but I get that pretty often and it's funny because my brother in law actually is a grasshopper."

The bartender replies, "Well in that case, we have a drink named after your brother in law!"

The cricket asks, "You have a drink named Carl?"

Yeah, that first one is really nice. Never seen one of those before.
That is my best Dragonfly pic this year. There seems to be loads of Mayflies but very few Dragonflies. That particular example is about 6 inches long (average for the species) and the wingspan is about 8 inches.
I had to follow that one for about 10 minutes before it landed and I could do an impersonation of a Ninja and sneak up close enough to get a photo. It was on that branch for about 3 seconds before moving off.
As I was following it I noticed it kept bumping into things. It bounced off a few plants and branches in an obvious OOPS moment.
