A few from today's walk 4/21/14

[BillM]

Today was just perfect out, maybe a little windy but nice sun and temps in the 60's. So as soon as I was done working I headed out to get a few miles of walking in before the NHL playoff games started.

Did the zombie apocalypse start already ????

These Northern Flickers were actually from yesterday. I've only seen a single one of these before and yesterday while I was watching in amazement as a group of 4 of them were bouncing around in the trees 4 more showed up. With 8 of them jumping around I got all confused and couldn't get any shots lol

And this is what it looked like as I was leaving today. This was to my left

And this was to my right

Thanks for looking

Nice set Bill. What no snakes were out?

[baturn]

Nice! Especially the 2nd flicker.

Really love #6, a great shot. All the others are great as well, and love #1 & #2 as well.

Nice set Bill. What no snakes were out?

They are out, but I only took one picture of then and ran away lol

[BillM]

Thanks Raj and Brian

The geese look horrible when downsized, they look better on SmugMug.

LOL, even from here I get the third shot but, not sure what the NHL is though. National .. something .. league I guess. The Geese look great Bill and love the second shot. The northern Flicker is beautiful in its marking and feathering. Really nice bird and shots. Like the lighting and feel of the scenery shots, very nice. Getting cold and wet here Bill, so your warmer months must be due for sure. Enjoy

All the best way up north Bill.

Danny.

[BillM]

You really need to watch some NHL playoffs Danny, think Aussie rules football on ice and everyone is carrying a stick LOL

And you are correct, the weather is finally starting to warm up. I saw my first northern watersnake of the season yesterday so that is a sure sign that spring is here.

And before anyone asks, NO, I'm not getting in front of him for a better head shot, i hate those things lol

Plus a big oily rat !!!!

And this, not sure what it is

[nzmacro]

Ahhh, ice hockey. We only play that on grass and not as many fights Pretty boring compared to ice hockey from what I've seen.

Water snake, no snakes here Bill, but how about taking a shot with a 50mm macro of the fangs Love that last one singing away. What's the bird you have up there I've seen around on the net like that ...... Cackle .... Crackle maybe, something like that. Not really sure but someone will know.

All the best Bill, nice shots once again.

Danny.

Great photos, especially the Flickers.

[BillM]

It was similar to a Grackle Danny but I don't think it was. It appeared smaller especially in the beak ?

This is a Grackle

[NancyMoranG]

Great shots, especially those Flickers. What distinctive spots they have!

This is Sharks territory, Bill.

[Raj_55555]

wow! is that really a rat? Looks more like a dog.

[BillM]

I believe it is a Muskrat Raj, they can get big. The same day I saw a mink but couldn't get a shot of that.

The muskrat is kind of like a small beaver without the cool tail lol
