A goose that is not camera shy

I was at a nature preserve and two geese just hung out near the road and posed. I think I need to lighten up the face....

Getting "good" shots of birds with black feathers around the eyes is very dependent upon where the light is coming from. Ideally the bird will be turned so that there is a strong reflection on the eyeball, that's the only way to get enough contrast between the feathers and the eye.

Of course, the birds care not of your desires and will simply do what they do.
