This photo gives off a feeling of "serenity".
I like the detail in the wing feathers!
Is this a crop?
Did you originally include its reflection in your frame? I wonder what it would look like if we saw its neck and head reflected in the water, too?

lol no thats not a crop at all... i saw him WAAAAAY off in the distance and i just sat on the ground, very quiet, wind was blowing away from him towards me... he just kept coming closer and closer until he got close enough that that picture right there is the full frame shot with a 70-300
edit:: all i did was levels, contrast and a slight sharpen. no cropping or anything special

Nice shot! My suggestions for improvement would be to include the whole reflection if possible, and to allow a bit of room for the bird to "swim into" on the right side. It's a bit centered for my taste. Considering that it looked like a bright day you did well with exposure, only one hot spot on the tail end that may also just be this monitor.
