For 5 euros ( approx. 5 USD) I recently bought a small wreck .
The shutter was stuck. The thin piece of wood inserted between the rear and the front part of the camera was broken in two places and a side panel of the front part housing the shutter/ lens assembly was missing.
I fixed everything and I have now in hand a nice little stereoscopic jumelle .
Format is 45x107 mm using plates.
Engraved letters in front “DMR LPR” stand for Demaria Lapierre . A prolific French camera manufacturer.
I searched for the model name . a "Capsa"
Datation is ciirca 1920
The camera is full metal. The rear part surface has been probably treated using silver based compounds and then lacquered. Over time, the black lacquer has turned to bronze.
